The firm has broken away from the aloof culture associated with the legal industry, choosing instead to operate in an approachable, accessible and unpretentious manner.
It was founded by Penina Shepherd in 2007 in the midst of a recession, with no financial backing, three young children (one was a newborn) and all while overcoming a life-threatening illness. Her journey is a powerful story of resilience and determination.
Penina began with a clear vision: to change the way legal services are provided. Disillusioned by the aloof culture of traditional firms, she scrapped the rigid internal hierarchies and built a firm grounded in authenticity, community and genuine relationships with clients and collaborators.
